Originally when gaming i had just a mic and put my sound through my stereo, but since my girlfriend’s hours changed I needed a sound alternative when she was sleeping. At first I purchased the Ear Force PX21 but they didn’t do the job. So I took them back and searched for a better product around the same price.

Here why we would recommend these headphones to any gamer out there. After testing the Ear Force X4 Dolby Digital wireless headphones for some time with sound and without, online and off, on many different kinds of games, and came to the conclusion that they have one of the clearest, most concise sounds out there. We all know how important it is these days to get the best “bang for your buck”, and by buying the Ear Force X4’s we can truthfully say that these headphones are well worth the price.

The ear cups are really very comfortable. We would go so far to say that the Ear Force X4 Headphones are at least half the weight of the AX360. Ever notice how sometime headphones make your ears get too warm? Not so with the Dolby Digital, and i even forget I’m wearing them. The range is great in my house too. I can go most anywhere as long as you keep a line of sight.

Even better than the comfortable design is the voice chat. The Ear Force X4 lets you to adjust the chat volume independently of the rest. This is great because the game chat audio is perfect, which is a distinct advantage over other gamers when you know where the other players are before the opposition does! Normally I’d turn down the game’s music and remove all the other sounds to be able to understand other players with other headphones, but these headphones overcome that problem. Crystal clear. And not only is the audio exceptionally crisp, the mike is easy to remove. Hearing yourself is never an issue. On that same note, I can get 5.1 surround on my Ear Force X4’s and X3’s at the same time which is great for watching movies and not disturbing anyone else in the house. Of course, the X4’s do sound much better than the X3’s over 5.1

We also would like to comment on the X4’s  sturdiness. We have tried other headphones that break easily, these are solid, yet lightweight.

In conclusion we want to add that we have owned 3 other 5.1 headphones, and the Ear Force X4 Dolby Digital Wireless Headphones  are unquestionably the best in our opinion.

In fact its so good that I can hear people sneaking up behind me on COD 5 as well as the type of granade that is being thrown at me. I hear sounds now that I didnt even know where in the game. The only problems i had was connecting it to the Xbox 360. I run HDMI output for both sounds and video. Because of this i was not be able to connect the headset to the Xbox 360. The Elite comes with a digital audio plug that fits into the slot while still allowing an HDMI cable to be plugged into it as well. This is very important because if you do not have an Xbox 360 Elite you might need to get a special cable from Gamestop or another video game store in order to get the headset to work. Other surround sound headsets that I have used have been very uncomfortable after sustained use, the G35 has an adjustable headband and comes with three different cushions for whatever shape head you may have so they fit great. Features like the microphone muting make this thing  better than the others. The software is simple to use, however it’s  somewhat limited. For the price of this headset I would like a little bit more technical features and control over the sound. The sound quality is superb for a USB headset. I threw in COD4 and couldnt stop playing. I haven’t even played with settings yet and they still sound amazing. I dont know why some people say they dont find them very comfortable, they fit perfect, I dont find them heavy at all and I left the cloth pads on them. If your looking for an awesome headset that will fit pretty much anything you want to hear sound from, pick these up and even if you have a surround system like me, you will still want to put these on instead. The Sennheiser RS 130s are simply put, awesome! Although they have been out for a couple years now they are still one of the best selling wireless surround sound headphones on the market today and for a number of good reasons.

While a lot of wireless headphones have poor reception the Sennheiser RS 130s use what is called intelligent auto tuning and a self-learning automatic signal level control that provides maximum signal reception and a range of up to 150 meters. Imagine being able to listen to your favorite music from your A/V system while doing your chores without having to blast your stereo speakers. With the RS 130s you can move around freely while enjoying audiophile-class sound wherever you roam. With a design that completely encases your ears and with an SRS surround sound mode that can be switched on or off the Sennheiser RS 130s are great for watching movies in surround sound while everyone else in the house is asleep.

I purchased this item for use when viewing TV and movies. It  blocks out outside noises very well  but I also found the quality of the sound was so good that I was able to clearly hear low spoken conversations and subtle background sounds that I would have otherwise missed. I found the earpiece padding to be comfortable and can easily be worn over my glasses without a problem. Having the on/off and volume controls on the earphones is very convenient. I even ordered a second set and was pleasantly surprised to find out that both headphones can work off of one transmitter. This enabled me to hook one transmitter to my cable box and the other one to the DVD player. Overall I am very happy with these and would highly recommend it. I  purchased the RS 130s to use when on the treadmill. I was afraid the treadmill would interfere with the reception, but I have not had any problems at all with the reception. I can hear my TV shows quite well without having to turn the sound up to blasting. I have also connected them to my computer with great results. I have found that the range of these headphones is great. I’ve used them all over the house, as well as in my backyard (2+ acres) and have had no problems. I even hooked them to my ipod in the house while I was using a noisy leaf blower outside. These headphones worked wonders in blocking out the leaf blower motor while allowing me to listen to my music at a comfortable level. I highly recommend these headphones.
